Man Aged 79 Drops Dead Gottlieb Stein Succumbs to Heart Failure on the Street. Gottlieb Stein, aged 79 years, of 325 North Sixteenth street, was found dead at an early hour yesterday morning at Thirteenth and Savier streets by C. G. Derlsch, a night watchman at the North Bank Railway roundhouse. It is believed the aged man stumbled and fell, the shock killing him. The man probably died five hours before the discovery of the body. The septuagenarian lived in Portland 17 years, coming her direct from Germany, his native country. He leaves eight children, six of whom live in Portland, one in Spokane and one in Germany. An inquest held at the morgue of Dunning, McEntee & Gilbaugh resulted in death being ascribed to heart failure. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the chapel of that undertaking parlor and interment will be made in River View Cemetery. [The Oregonian, 10 Jun 1909, p12]
